Legislation

Individuals responsible for buildings have a legal obligation under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to ensure that fire doorsets retain the ability to resist the passage of fire throughout their planned service. A fire door that is fitted incorrectly is none compliant, risking life, invalidating insurance and potentially inviting prosecution or significant fines.

To comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, fire door installation and maintenance is a key requirement for every business and establishment to which the order applies.

A fully functioning, compliant and correctly maintained fire door assembly will help prevent the spread of fire and smoke between separate compartments of a structure thus protecting lives and built assets.
